Our Team
Our organization operates with a volunteer board of directors and without any regularly paid or full-time employees. Its board members comprise of five people of color who reside within the targeted neighborhoods in which it solicits its participants. Action Matters recruits, trains and retain over 50 volunteers annually to help carry out its mission.
To date, Action Matters has its original board of directors intact. Like traditional Boards of Directors, Action Matters assigns board positions according to its member’s skill set and expertise. Current board members range in age from 25-60 years old and are involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization.
The organization has activity staff, contract workers and volunteers that are also a reflection of the population in which they serve. Teens and young adults are often place in leadership roles during activities to ensure a wide wage of leadership style and to diversify the program’s delivery.
