Since 2000
Action Matters was officially launched during September of 2000, Our first event was a Gus Macker basketball tournament at Maple Hill Mall in Kalamazoo, MI.
Annual Events
Annual staple events include Lost & Found Rebound clothes recycling project, campus awareness programs hooping in the hood, and basketball camp, and programming theFathers Inspiring Sons Together (FIST) and Females Uniting Sisterly Support(Fuss).
Supporters & Partnerships
Over the years, Action Matters has established partnerships with the city of Kalamazoo, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Public Schools, Radisson Plaza Hotel, Kazoo Blues AAU Club, Courthouse Athletic Center, the Xperience by Luxury Escapes and others.
Supporters include Schupan & Sons, the Diane Lang Fund, Big Moe's Barbecue, Guys who Give, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, and more.
Current
Action Matters continues to serve and has officially been designated by IRS as a non-profit organization. FIST and Fuss events continue year round programming.
